Educational Foundation -Heart to Heart & Hand to Hand

Scholarships - The Delta Phi Epsilon Educational Foundation, established in the state of Missouri as a 501(c)3 charitable organization, was organized to secure funds to assist the women of Delta Phi Epsilon with their undergraduate and graduate educations. Scholarships are given annually to members of Delta Phi Epsilon and their children to assist in pursuing graduate and undergraduate degrees. Applications are due in March of each year, and may be requested after January 1 of each year.

Educational Programs - In addition to granting scholarships, the Delta Phi Epsilon Educational Foundation also makes grant monies available to Delta Phi Epsilon Sorority to support educational and leadership development programs. Historically, the Foundation has supported efforts to train chapter officers; developed, printed, and distributed manuals and training materials; sponsored community service events and projects; funded speakers and materials for the biennial Convention; and, in general, supported the educational programs of Delta Phi Epsilon.

Philanthropic Giving - The Foundation is also responsible for coordinating all of the philanthropic giving by our collegiate chapters and alumnae associations. All funds donated to the Educational Foundation, Cystic Fibrosis Foundation, and Anorexia Nervosa and Associated Disorders are collected by the Foundation and disseminated to the appropriate philanthropy.

Cystic Fibrosis Foundation

The Cystic Fibrosis Foundation, the official philanthropy of the sorority since 1958, is the recipient of funds raised by chapters to support research to find a cure for CF and to improve the quality of life for the 30,000 children and young adults with the disease. In 1992 scientists described the gene that, when mutated, causes CF; however, a cure for CF has not been found. In appreciation of the sorority's fundraising efforts, the CFF named a research fellowship in honor of Delta Phi Epsilon. Over one million dollars has been raised to date for the CFF through Delta Phi Epsilon. For more information on CFF visit their website at: http://www.cff.org/

The National Association of Anorexia Nervosa & Associated Disorders

The Edith Barash Stern Fund, established in honor of our past President, supports philanthropic efforts as chosen by Grand Chapter at Convention. By tradition, the interests of our young women are served, and since 1985, ANAD has been an additional recipient of our fundraising efforts. ANAD is a national organization dedicated to alleviating problems of anorexia and other eating disorders. Its methods include education, newsletters, counseling, self-help groups, and providing funds for research. Delta Phi Epsilon is the first international sorority to pledge regular support to an organization concerned with eating disorders. We support the annual ANAD Candlelight Vigil, which occurs in April. For more information on the Candlelight Vigil, please visit ANAD's website at: http://www.anad.org/

Tate's Totes

"Tate's Totes" are bags filled with various items that make an extended hospital stay more comfortable for children with cystic fibrosis and their parents.  Tate's Totes are given to local Cystic Fibrosis Foundation Care Centers to distribute to to patients.  At the 2006 international convention, Delta Phi Epsilon announced its official partnership with the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation.  This official partnership cements a relationship that spans the last 48 years, in which Delta Phi Epsilon has raised more than one million dollars for the fight to cure Cystic Fibrosis.  To support this partnership and build service in our sisterhood, all chapters are encouraged to participate in the Tate's Totes.
Donna, Delta Phi Epsilon's International President has a nephew named Tate; just two weeks before Tate was born Donna took her oath of office, Tate has cystic fibrosis.  Tate has breathed new energy and dedication into Delta Phi Epsilon's commitment to this cause.  The result of this revitalization is Tate's Totes - a little love from the women of Delta Phi Epsilon for children who must endure long hospital stays.

"Happiness Is Serving Kids In Distressed Situations"-fondly know as "His Kids".  It is the Gamma Alpha chapter's local philanthropy that provides baskets and room decorations for children and their families for some holidays throught the school year.  Mainly for Easter and Halloween, the women of the Gamma Alpha chapter purchase and donate baskets with games and toys for children staying in hospitals for extended periods of time.  The hope is to brighten the hospital rooms and provide fun activity for families with terminal illnesses.
